Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum is the cultural complex facility which organizes both museum and art museum located in Omoromachi, Naha City. For the museum, it gives instructions about Okinawa’s nature, history and culture based on 2 aspects; the oceanic aspect and the island aspect. Also, it features exhibition rooms with 5 categories including nature history, archaeology, arts and crafts, folklore and an outdoor exhibition space. For the art museum, there are artworks showcased not only ones from Okinawa or related to Okinawa, but also ones made by foreign artists. Various kinds of artworks are exhibited and introduced. The exhibitions cover a variety of artworks such as painting, sculpture, architecture, handicraft, calligraphy, literature, music, traditional dance and more.
